We have all made mistakes…
Some mistakes are bigger than others but all through our relatively short experience in D/s, we continually come across one recurring mistake made by many which if unchecked becomes a big problem. Safety. Whilst it is easy to hide behind the pc screen on line, when it comes to the point of making that huge leap from online to real life there are many additional implications that must be considered.
The single most important thing one must ensure is personal safety. If you don't make arrangements to be safe, nobody else will do it for you.
Whatever you may think about someone you have met online, whatever impression they give you as to their character or personality, never assume that what you think you know, is true.
It is all too easy to have a false impression when one has not met an individual. The real thing can be very different. Almost every day we hear reports of meetings arranged in haste without safety in mind, where someone is hurt, upset, or worse.
There are some basic precautions that can be put in place. These include letting a friend know where you are meeting, choosing carefully the meeting place, and arranging for a friend or contact to call you, or be called. A genuine party to the meeting should also be prepared to give you some basic information too….name, address, other details such as car registration number etc, that enable them to be identified. If they are not prepared to give this information then they are probably not genuine.
